The Director of Center Store & Pricing will be responsible for setting the direction of category management in the General Merchandise, Seasonal, HBC, non-foods, private label, and grocery store supplies departments to achieve or exceed budgeted sales and gross profit, product mix, promotional activities, procurement, recommended pricing and placement, plan-o-gram’s and inventory levels. This person will also lead the development and execution of the price and promotion strategy for the organization.  In addition, this individual will work in collaboration with internal departments to meet company objectives and drive our brand in the marketplace. 


  1. Accurately forecast and provide direction for continually improving P & L results.
  2. Develop and act as a Gatekeeper for all Banner Plan-o-gram’s, promotional planning, and execution.
  3. Oversee operations of all assigned categories to meet budgeted objectives and goals.
  4. Work with analytics and pricing teams to establish pricing and promotional strategies as well as an annual calendar to achieve competitive market position and realize maximum sales potential.
  5. Establish and achieve proper product variety that meets our company objectives.
  6. Achieve budgeted expense objectives.
  7. Direct and participate in the development and training of direct reports.
  8. Establishing and maintaining a welcoming and supportive culture that aligns with the vision, mission, and values and promotes mutual respect; abides by equitable, inclusive, and just practices; enhances staff and volunteer positivity and productivity; encourages collaboration, teamwork, a strengths-based approach, and accountability throughout organizational transformation.
  9. Build collaborative relationships with internal departments to drive goals and company objectives. Execute strategic initiatives, conduct joint planning processes, and manage joint projects.


  • Possess the skills and knowledge generally associated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing, or related field, MBA preferred, plus 10-12 years of progressive successful experience of marketing and/or procurement experience in the food industry.
  • Strong leadership skills coupled with the ability to develop and successfully implement programs.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Experience overseeing Pricing systems management is preferred
  • Working knowledge of category management and modern procurement systems.
  • Demonstrated successful relationships with customers and suppliers.
