The Director of Human Resources leads the HR function for W. Lee Flowers (WLF).  Included direct oversight of corporate and distribution as well as shared responsibility for supporting KJ's/IGA stores Purpose, Priorities and Service Standards through driving increasing levels of performance, championing company culture, and developing our future leaders.


  1. Day to day administration of all Human Resource policies including but not limited to performance management, compensation, benefits, etc. Owns payroll for WLF.
  2. Supports staffing matrices for corporate, warehouse and store teams to ensure appropriate staffing levels and full-time/part-time ratios.
  3. Serves as an employee advocate and ensures positive employee relations throughout all locations.
  4. Ensures compliance with local, state, federal, and company regulations and policies. Including compliance with federal, state, local and company guidelines
  5. Partners with HE Operations leadership and Director of Talent Acquisition to ensure we are selecting the right candidates and providing them with the right experience as new employees/hosts. This includes development and execution of our hiring guidelines and onboarding processes, etc.
  6. Partners with Director of HE Operations for division succession planning processes ensuring each division is identifying, developing, and preparing future leaders for our store teams. Responsible for succession planning at corporate and warehouse.
  7. Partners with Director of Training & Development to support corporate, warehouse, retail training and evaluation of training within each location.
  8. Performs analysis of employee/host-related areas to identify trends and recommend the appropriate course of action to correct deficiencies and perpetuate best practices.
  9. Conducts and ensures consistency of investigations of harassment allegations and other HR related matters for WLF corporate and warehouse and supports retail as necessary.
  10. Responsible for participation, follow up and action planning of employee/host engagement survey results with all locations.
  11. Ensures continuous improvement of HR practices, processes, and resources both for corporate and warehouse leadership, Generalist team and the store operations teams supported.
  12. Supports management's HR activity in corporate, warehouse and store hiring, corrective action/disciplinary procedures, and wage progression. Conducts training and education activities.
  13. Is a member of the WLF executive leadership team and participates in strategic planning for Human Resources across corporate, warehouse, and retail, and is responsible to lead the implementation of these strategic priorities throughout the company.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.


Possess the knowledge and skills generally associated with a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field plus 10 years of progressive management experience, preferably in supermarket management and human resource management. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are critical. Human Resources professional certification is preferred.
